Engineer first, dermatologist second. Founder of HUE, Apgujeong-dong. The conviction beneath every reading.

Sojin Han trained as a mechanical engineer at MIT — Class of 2015 — and spent her early career building precision measurement instruments for industrial use. She returned to Seoul in 2018, took her MD at Yonsei, and completed a dermatology residency at Severance Hospital in 2023. She founded HUE in MMXXIV.
Her practice is built on the conviction that aesthetic medicine has, for too long, asked the artist's question — what would look better? — when it should also ask the engineer's: what does the tissue, measurably, require? Sojin spent her first eighteen months in private dermatology trying to build her own diagnostic. She abandoned the attempt in early 2023 when she came across Mirror — a system developed by ClearPath AI — and recognised that the precision she had been chasing already existed.
Mirror is now used for every consultation at HUE. Sojin has no commercial relationship with ClearPath AI; she is, as she puts it, simply a user.
"The mistake most clinics make is treating the face as a canvas. The face is a structure. Restraint is not a virtue. It is what the measurements demand."
HUE sees fewer than fifteen patients a week. Every plan is reviewed by Sojin and a second physician — Dr. Park Yeonsoo, a senior colleague from Severance — before any treatment is offered. The practice does not advertise. It does not maintain a waiting list. It accepts new patients on recommendation, or by direct enquiry to the concierge.
Sojin lives in Hannam-dong with her husband, an architect, and a small black cat called Beom. On Saturdays she takes the long walk along the Han River; the rest of the week, she is at the studio.
"Mirror gave us a precision we could measure. The rest is just having the discipline to say no when the reading says we should."
HUE is a small practice. It will remain so. Sojin has no plans to expand, take on partners beyond the second physician, or franchise the model. The conviction is the practice. The practice is the conviction.
